Biography

Aga Galan was born in Poznań, into a family with strong artistic and pedagogical traditions. She started learning the violin at the age of six.
She graduated from the University of Music Saar in Saarbrücken, in the violin class of Prof. J. Epstein, and received a postgraduate diploma from the same school as a concert musician. She simultaneously completed pedagogical studies at the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań. She passed all her final exams with the best marks.

Aga Galan was a scholarship holder of the Ministry for Education, Culture and Science (Saarland), Bruno und Elisabeth Meindl Stiftung, and Stiftung für Internationale Meisterkurse Zürich. She honed her instrumental skills during international masterclasses in Lehrte, Oberstdorf, Schwetzingen, Saarbrücken, Biel, and Zürich, from such prominent artists as Prof. Vladimir Spivakov, Prof. Rosa Fain (twice), Prof. Joshua Epstein, Prof. Philippe Descamps, Prof. Gilles Colliard, and Prof. Krzysztof Węgrzyn.

Her other formative influences were Prof. Maxim Vengerov, Prof. Eberhard Finke, Prof. Eduard Brunner, and Prof. Wolfram Schmitt-Leonardy.

Aga Galan has been active in chamber music from an early age, performing with her brother, cellist Mikołaj Galan. She has toured most European countries.

As a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed at such venues as the Berliner Philharmonie, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Casino Bern, Stadtcasino Basel, Tonhalle Zürich, Auditorio de Zaragoza and at various concert halls in Malmö, Copenhagen, London, Milan, Versailles, and Paris. She has also made solo appearances in numerous concert series for the Internationale Stiftung zur Förderung von Kultur und Zivilisation in Munich.

Aga Galan was a member of the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie, the World Chamber Orchestra in Frankfurt am Main, and Sinfonieorchester Trier.
She has taken part in numerous album and radio recordings.
Since 2007, Aga Galan has been teaching, as well as performing as a soloist and chamber musician.
In 2020, she founded her own studio under the name Violinstudio Aga Galan.
